  7. To elect the officers of the society; The Chairman’s position is vacant, Tony Brown as Secretary and John Threapleton as President.
  8. Fixtures 2025; May West Yorkshire, June Lancashire, July Greater Manchester, August South Yorkshire, September North Yorkshire, October AGM Cheshire.
  9. Kevin Grace from Cheshire raised the issue of Prize Awards;
    Award the winners of each division ie 1 up to 9.9,2 10 -16.9. 3 17+
    Then instead of 1,2, 3 in each division the winning score is rewarded. The Winner of the Division then as the scores go down no matter which division the Score is rewarded.
    The proposal was discussed at length & had merits. The third division is a band of Players who it is hoped that the society encourages to go on to improve their Handicap & maybe play in National events. The Society recommends the organising Secretaries distribute the prizes as they see fit. In the past there has been a gross Prize. Not all secretaries award this prize.
    As a follow on to the above Kevin proposed the top two in each division take a prize
    The next three prizes to be awarded to the next 3 best scores no matter which Division. This will be monitored throughout 2025
    Kevin also produced the results of a survey he had conducted over 120 different Players in 5 events; 39 in Division 1, 44 in Division 2 & 37 in Division 3. Concluding that the Handicap ranges that are being used are satisfactory.
    It is hoped that the society keeps evolving & follows new trends as with the Following; At Eden gc & Howley Hall gc the trend has been noticed that winners of Trophies (three in each division per event) have not been available to collect. Which raises the question is this a trend do players no longer need an annual Presentation? Some trophies are not engraved or not returned.
    A proposal from Kevin; that the trophies be reduced to one per event. Thus the best eight be distributed to each Service/member. This trophy would then be used at that event for the home service players for the best score. The Trophy would then remain with that Service for their annual event. The Joe Ball, the Brian Moncaster & the Alan Mellon would be presented at the AGM. Please send me any thoughts you may have to these proposals.

Tony thanked the members for their attendance and Stephen for organising the day.

Meeting closed at 09:45

Raffle – Many thanks to the contributors.
